Juicy Detailing vs Black Zafira

Juicy Detailing vs Black Zafira
This customer originally came in looking for a tuning module for his car and asked me to take a look over his Zafira as he'd recently purchased it and thought it could do with some work, so here is how it arrived....

From a distance not to bad

But up close

And the wheels....

Getting started...wheels cleaned with Chemical Guys Redberry

Car first rinsed off to get rid of initial debris (water just sticking to the car)

Wheels not to bad after using the Redberry

Car snowfoamed using a Karcher Foam Lance and our own Juicy Snow Foam

Rinsed...

Car washed using 2bm with Dodo Juice Born To Be Mild shampoo and a Juicy lambswool wash mitt, once rinsed it was brought inside for a proper inspection

The bonnet....

As you can see every panel was of the same state

I then began to clay the car and look what was coming off...

The sides of the car were covered in tar...the marks in the pic below are tar spots... I have no idea how long it's been on there but it must of been for sometime. I initially started using the Juicy Medium clay bar but it wasn't really removing anything, so moved up to a more aggressive purple bar. I also enlisted the help of Daryl to help clay (in the end it took both of us 5 hrs to remove it all).

So with that mammoth task over I began taping up...

You'll also notice that the car has been de-badged at the customer's request.

Tuesday 5pm Day 1 - started machining using DAS-6. Started on the bonnet with Green Hex Logic pad and Chemical Guys 778, which removed virtually nothing so moved up to Chemical Guys 721 with the green. Again removed a little but still not good enough so changed to an orange (medium) Hex Logic pad with 721.

Couple of 50/50's (still trying to get the lighting right for these pics)

Think we'll try turning off strip lights next time

I still wasn't happy with the finish so I went a step further and tried 3m Yellow Extra Fine Compound 80349  and the orange hex logic. I then finished off with using 778 and a black hex logic pad - much happier phew thought I'd never get there!

Moving on to the drivers side wing...

Bit better..

Getting there..

11pm - called it a night and start on this tomorrow...

Day 2 - started 8.30

50/50 on first pass on drivers side door

Had a little diversion when a courier arrived with this, please excuse the drool

Well I'm afraid there are not more befores and afters working on the panels and I just had to get on as it was taking alot of time. Finished day 2 at 11pm.

Daryl cleaned the engine bay while I was polishing and coated the wheels with 2 coats of Jetseal 109 - thankyou

Day 3 - started at 6.30 and finally finished machine polishing at 4pm.

As the car was quite dusty so gave it a good rinse, snow foamed and washed.....it was bought back in and dryed with Chemical Guys Miracle Dryer

I'm sure Andrew was just trying to demonstrate in this pic my lovely holder for my P7 LED Lensor torch

And this one.....

The car was then given one coat of Ez Creme Glaze and 2 coats of Jetseal 109 - left for 20 minutes between each application (sorry no pics as was short on time).

Final stage gave the car a coat of Dodo Juice Blue Velvet Pro...it was left for 30 minutes to cure and then buffed off

Last few things before the customer arrived back - glass and metal/crome cleaned and polished, plus number plates cleaned up with Dodo Juice Lime Prime as they were also quite dirty that has not been removed during washing and claying.

The end results of what was a really long job and I have to say I'm shattered but all that effort gets forgotten when I look at the finished article...

Reflection shot from the boot...

The roof, just a shame you'd need to be 7 foot to see it these are a selection of my favourite

the front....

the side and a few others...

Now you see how I do it all...I have a siamese twin

And a few outside shots....
