Open Day 7th August 2010
Juicy Detailing's First Open Day 7th August 2010
Some of you that are avid Juicy fans may be aware that we were in business before the website was launched, therefore you will notice alot of photos taken from our first open were used to put the site together.
The first open day was a great success much more than either Andrew or myself could of thought thanks to you. I want to share with you some pictures from the day just to let those that might be interested in the future what goes on....
Before the rabble arrive we do a little preparation and posing by the looks of it
Our Seat Leon FR was given a bit of a wash before, firstly wheels cleaned and then snow foamed..
Dirt flowing off
It was washed with Dodo Juice Born To Be Mild Shampoo and then given a coat of Dodo Juice Lime Prime and Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax
So with one of the cars sorted it was on to preparation inside the unit (can't believe how much the unit has changed since this photo)
People starting to arrive..
Got started with the first demonstration showing snow foaming and proper wash techniques. You might recognise the car as this is Ian (Herc's) Astra that I had detailed previously. Ian had some in the space of 8 days done around 500 motor way miles in the car since I'd had my hands on it and I wanted to show the value of having a car paint corrected and protected properly
Quite a few people were interested in the various drying towels available so Ian and I did a little demo showing the differences
Once dry I use some Chemical Guys Clear Seal and Gloss Spray Sealant to give it a top up of protection but its also excellent for getting rid of water marks after washing
I then did the same process on another chaps arden Astra VXR to show the difference between a protected and unprotected car. You can tell the difference by the way the water behaves, this happens to a protected car (nice beading with Celeste Dettaglio Wax) or the water just sticks
Plus we teach him how to dry properly!
While this is going on people are in the unit having a chat and sampling the goodies on offer. Ben having a sniff of Chemical Guys Maxi Suds Shampoo...

Next demonstration how to clay your car. This is one of the cheapest and most effective ways of improving the look of the paintwork from dull and rough to brigher and smoother. It creates a much better surface for the next stage products you use, as after all the best results are all in the preparation
Getting ready for dual action and rotary polishing machine demonstrations
The results and treated to a nice coat of Celeste for letting us use the bonnet as a test subject
As we were drawing towards the end of the day Andrew brought out our Audi TTRS and took the youngun's for a little joy ride.....
Now even though it was way past the time we were supposed to finish Ben wanted to try out some of the skills he had learnt during the day on his panacotta Astra Estate (I really like this colour). So as I don't like to disappoint....
He was also interested in having a go at machine polishing with some assistance from me so I broke out the halogens first to scare him
Ben then applied a coat of Chemical Guys Ez Creme and a coat of Chemical Guys Celeste Dettaglio and we were all done
And we just couldn't resist getting a little wet at the end, you've got to love these pictures
All in all it was a very long day finishing at 12pm (Ben was in the dog house when he got home!), however it was throughly enjoyable.
Hope this makes you want to come along to the next one
